The Sir Robert Peel

Kirsty and Steve would like to give a warm welcome to everyone in the Sir Robert Peel pub and visitors to our newly launched website.

For those of you who haven't visited us yet we are a traditional community pub restaurant on Sunnybank Road in Unsworth, part way between Whitefield and Bury [map & contact details]. Although we are situated in a long established popular residential area we are fortunate in not being overlooked at the rear.

The large restaurant windows frame a pleasant panoramic view of farm and hills in the background. The restaurant seats 32 covers comfortably on classic, high backed leather chairs sitting on wooden flooring giving a stylish but relaxed atmosphere to the space. Please see our Menu and we also have a daily specials board at the pub.

The large carpeted main lounge is open planned which promotes a good friendly atmosphere with quieter areas naturally allowed by the central decorative pillars.

We share the country's passion for sports and especially football. What's on gives details on forth coming matches. All big games are on two easy viewing quality 50" plasma screens that give clear over-lapping viewing ranges to the entire lounge so the games can be enjoyed without crowding particular areas. We like to have and promote a family friendly atmosphere for the games.

Sunday is Sunday and means its Carvery Day, a particular favourite of ours! We take great care and pride in choosing the most succulent tender joints of meat we can source and to do them justice by making sure they are roasted to perfection. Served with freshly prepared steamed vegetables and gravy. A perfect Sunday roast dinner for all the family.

In the vault, for those who enjoy the outward passion and camaraderie of live football, is a large projected screen. Other pub favourites are in the vault such as pool, darts where customers compete and arrange in local leagues. Extensive seating areas complete the vault for friends on a night out or quick drink and read of daily papers.

Pub Quiz

Every Thursday at 08:30pm quietness falls over the lounge and is broken when Stevo stands up as quizmaster! It is a lighthearted Quiz Night and we make sure the rounds & questions are fair for all ages. Lots of fun & banter usually directed at licensee Steve the quizmaster, with some great games and prizes to be won if your numbers called up for +101 darts and higher or lower card game. Cash prizes of over £500 have been won!

On occasional themed quiz nights Kirsty has put together the picture rounds with a difference...on a DVD that is played through to the main screens in the lounge. We had a lot of laughs, see Pub Quiz page and see how you would have done...

We like to say friends that play together, drink together! And to follow this up organising regular pub trips is especially fun. Please feel free to have a look in the What's on section for write ups and maybe have a good laugh through the photos...
